NYSSMA Festival time is quickly approaching, and here are a few items that will help make the process a bit easier for everyone: All solos must be listed in the NYSSMA Manual Edition XXVII. On the WCSMA information sheet the manual is incorrectly listed as Edition XXVI. All solos must be from the current manual. Please do not use Edition XXVI. This is clearly stated on all official NYSSMA applications and documents. Please check the Manual Eratta at NYSSMA.org. Please use the specific Form A's that were included in the Zone Rep mailing. These include separate Form A's for All-State, Non All-State, Jazz and Piano. Using these forms will make the chairperson's job much easier and will help eliminate any mistakes or oversights in scheduling. If you have misplaced forms, you may use the forms in the NYSSMA mailing or find generic ones at WCSMA .com and/or NYSSMA.org. You may fill out applications for All-State at NYSSMA.org. Please remember to print out the completed forms for the appropriate signatures. These forms must be sent to the chairs at the festival site. Remember to review the new criteria for sight-reading. If a student has difficulty sight-reading, you may want to register him/her in a non all-state room. If anyone would like to serve as the chair for the regional workshop, please contact Tom. There is an implementation guide and help locating a presenter, as well as a CMC Representative to assist the chair. Lastly, please plan to help out at the festivals this spring. A few hours helping in the office or at the registration tables can help make the festival a success. Call a chair and schedule time or offer your help if you find yourself with free time when attending the festival with your students. FESTIVAL ROTATION, School year 2004 - 2005
