This year NYSSMA Zone 11 will host a Piano only adjudication festival.  Piano adjudication will not be available at any other festival sites.  Any student wishing to play piano for a rating must attend the Piano Only Festival.  The Festival will take place at The School of the Holy Child, 2225 Westchester Avenue, Rye, New York 10580, (914) 967-5622.  The host is Ann Foster (Fostermuse@aol.com). 
Application materials must be obtained from and submitted by the student's school music teacher.  Applications submitted by private teachers, parents, students, and other non-NYSSMA individuals will not be registered to play an audition.
Teachers will receive application materials directly from NYSSMA.  They will also receive the materials and specific information about all Zone 11 festivals from the Zone Representative in early January.

The application postmark deadline is April 1, 2004 (no fooling).

Only solos from the NYSSMA Manual Edition XXVII are eligible for a rating.  Any other solo not in the NYSSMA Manual will be given comments only.
All teachers sending students for a rating are encouraged to purchase a NYSSMA Manual.  Besides solo listings, the manual includes valuable information about sight-reading and scale requirements.  Not having the proper scales prepared to exact specifications can seriously lower the evaluation grade.
